ABOUT OUR BREEDING PROGRAM
We only provide long haired cream dachshunds. The cream can vary depending on which parents are being bred. Anywhere from Chocolate, Shaded whether they are black based or chocolate based, ee Creams, as well as Black and Creams, etc. There are possible dapple variations but since dapple is not a color it is a Pattern, it is never a guarantee even if one of the parents is a dapple.

Living in California notorious to the Parvo Virus, here at Sunkissed Dachshunds, they are given 3 at home shots and they are dewormed every 2 weeks. NeoTech has developed NeoPar and NeoVac which have a high titer and have been proven very effective. Normal 5-way vaccinations are an add-on to the immunity that puppies receive from their mother. NeoPar and NeoVac contain a high antigen mass (more vaccine units per dose), which results in a short period from vaccination to protection, a higher level of protection, and a long duration of immunity. Instead of being an add-on, it replaces the mother’s antibodies so you are positive that they are immunized. Before they go home, they receive these shots as followed:
-
they receive neopar at 5 weeks old
-
they receive neovac at 7 weeks old
-
they receive neopar at 8 weeks old
NEVER, EVER give your dachshund puppy a leptospirosis vaccination as they can have an adverse reaction, sometimes leading to death.

Our mission is to produce extraordinary dachshund puppies that follow the highest American Kennel Club standards and best quality for you and their future furfamily. All of our Dachshunds are showered with love and treated like the princes and princesses that they are.
Bringing a new puppy home is exciting and a little stressful all at the same time! Some questions you may have are: Where will they sleep? What do they eat? How do I even begin the potty training process?
As a newborn puppy, we start them off in our puppy nursery, where they sleep on a reusable potty pad on top of two heating pads for warmth inside of their individual whelping room that was custom designed in tile for easier clean up. As they grow up and begin crawling around we like to include a nice and comfy bed for them to start associating the difference in potty areas versus sleeping areas.
Once they reach around the 4 week mark starts the weaning process. It is very important for puppies, we begin with a “gruel” mix made from softened puppy kibble mixed with puppy chicken broth. We gradually thicken the gruel as they age, so that by the time their puppy teeth are in around 6 -7 weeks of age they can start eating small hard puppy kibble safely. We recommend Blue Buffalo's Puppy Recipe for small dogs. We make sure that each puppy is eating hard kibble and drinking water properly and safely before leaving our home. The day before 8 weeks, we take all the puppies to see the Vet here at our local Veterinarian "Samaritan Animal Hospital" and we receive a full health examination with a letter from our vet stating our puppies are in perfect health without any abnormalities.
Once they go home with you the first couple of nights away from mom and siblings can be tough on a young puppy, so do spend as much time as you can with them holding and loving on them. Crying and whining are to expected! We found using a blanket that smells like mom and siblings really helps with the anxiousness, so please include the blanket we give you in their beds or crates for any easier transition.
All of our babies are forever in our hearts! We love seeing photos and videos and hearing about your puppy as he/she grows! Please keep in touch! The majority of our puppy parents end up creating pupstagrams! If you happen to create your own for your furbaby please feel free to tag us and include us.
